New Alexandrine

Hi

i purchased an alexandrine 4 days ago from a pet store and was told it is a baby, i am not sure how old it is, it still only eats baby food and that is the current issue, it has all the feathers and also can fly,


it has got used to me and comes to me and squeaks when i get home ( i guess it is hungry and wants me to feed it)

It has not been eating alot of the formula when i attempt to feed it with a teaspoon and sometimes will only have one teaspoon and then walk away and if i attempt to force to feed it it flys away, the pet shop i purchased it from said to feed it only twice a day. once in the morning and once in the evening.


when i get home in the evening it starts squeaking so i take it out and feed it the limit it wants and then it seems to keep squeaking but not wanting to eat is this normal?

i have seeds in the cage and have placed different fruits and also bread but it doesn't seem to be eating much on its own, it did seem to chip away at the bread but not sure how much of it it actually ate.

any recommendations?

maybe the formula is too hot/cold? to runny/solid? (i have read that the temp should be around 40 degrees c, i have tried different combinations but doesn't seem to be making a big difference.

when it squeaks at me does that mean it is hungry?

if i whistle at it when it is in the cage it starts moving its head up and down and squeaking does this mean it is hungry or just wanting to play?

when i pick it up and get it to climb from hand to hand and whistle at it it seems to try and get to my face?

i just dont think it is eating as much as it should be? the crop doesnt seem to be full when it does eat..
