This birdie loves paper!

Bitsy absolutely loves to nibble paper. I learned that from a toy he has. It used to have colored paper on it. He nibbled it all away - I don't think he's eating it - just shredding/nibbling. Does anyone know what paper is safe for birds? Computer paper? I know paper towels are ok, but I guess they aren't fun for him - I tried that. I'd love to be able stuff some paper back into his toy -- any suggestions for me?

I don't see why computer paper would be bad. I used to work in a paper mill that recycled paper, and i know that any paper that's recycled is essentially the same. You should be fine.

Our budgies love pc paper, they dont eat it just shred. Never heard anything bad about it, there is no ink. The sun likes toilet paper on the roll.

mine like the small kinky paper that comes in their toys it's like the stuff you can decorate gift bags with I think....

if he likes shredding paper he'll probably like these toys in my photobucket...shredding different materials is my two's favorite....

i have read to not give bleached white paper like towels and toilet tissue to them (sorry)...I dont know if there's anything to it but i just avoid it...

I forgot to mention in the photobucket pic that peacock feather is bound with some copper thing, I remove that because of metal poisoning.

If you could take the computer paper and sliver it thin with scissors crinkle it up and stuff it back in that would probably be something he'd like...I just tried that with this ping pong ball toy with holes in it...they seem to like pulling it out....

Divot loves paper too! She will usually chew on a peice of tiolet paper though. But i haven't heard of any paper being bad for them. If it has no ink then it should be good!
