parrotlets in a community aviary?

Im setting up a pretty large aviary, with a 1x3 meters indoor room, and about 5 times that outdoor aviary for them. I just want to sit back and enjoy my birds, and have no real intention on breeding them. I might set up a smaller aviary where I can move potential breeders, but for now my only focus is to have a big community aviary with a few tils, budgeries, kakariki and maybe catarina parakeets. The parrotlest looks like a perfect main attractions in my aviary, but sadly much of the information I can find online says they dont mix well with other birds. Oddly enough, I got a old book saying the opposit...

Are there anyone here who has any experience with keeping parrotles, mainly the Lessons, in a comminty aviary or with other birds?

I'm no expert by any means, but from what I've read, plets don't really get along with other birds, especially in cages. Bundy (my plet) doesn't like me going in his cage at all.

Having said that, these guys really have their own personalities and maybe your plets will adapt. I would definitely monitor them as they suffer from "little man" syndrome (they attack anything regardless of how much smaller they are) and will pick fights with anyone.

The breeder I bought Bundy from has a similar community aviary to the one you describe. She built a small "house" in her backyard and all of her birds live there. The smaller birds have cages but she lets them all out when she is in there. She deals with these birds for a living and when I was there, I noticed her plets playing with her lovebirds (which really surprised me since lovebirds can be quite cruel too).

So, again, I recommend you monitor them all very closely if you are going to do this.
