I made a mistake.
That was Patchwork Parrot in GEORGIA. Well, what really bothers me is that she lied to me several times. Every time I asked for the cert, she told me it was mailed. For goodness sake, I don't live in the moon. Also, she simply does not care about the birds she sells, or at least she did not about the one she sold me. I asked several questions regarding how this bird was housed, what kind of cage, alone or with other plets, his personality, etc, and all my Qs were ignored. She must be too busy to worry about the well being of her birds.

I think I have heard of this place. Is it located in Thomaston Ga? I am not far from there(if this is the same place). They were on the news not long ago about how good they were and that they rescue unwanted birds. I have never been there but have heard of it. Glad you posted to warn people, cause sometimes people share the good and not the bad. Keep us posted please.

I looked at her website because I was curious about the contract. It does say that all birds come with hatch certificates and bands. There are no exceptions or exclusions. Legally, the buyer has every right to return the bird in exchange for another. Perhaps the band fell off, but still, there should have been a certificate.
If it were me, i would get a little feisty and keep calling and pestering. sooner or later something would come of it. Of course you could just let it drop and live with what is probably still a great parrotlet regardless of the missing band and certificate.

BEWARE of Patchwork Parrot I Agree!!
This Lady has been terribly deceitful, and there must be something wrong with her. No human being would behave this way under normal circumstances.
Its all so bizarre I cannot believe it has happend to me. I interviewd her very well before releasing a Canada Goose to her for temporary rehabilitation. This poor little fellow has beak injuries as well as other lesions and has a bacterial infection. I had a vet kind enough to run blood work for me, and gave me lots of antibiotics to give this goose. This Leigh Anne Haygood promised to keep me abreast of his further treatment and diagnosis from her vet. weeks went by and the goose hadnt seen the vet. she promised me that when the bird is rehabbed, I was more than welcome to pick him up and take him back to a cemetery in Alpharetta where he belongs to a flock ,and even has a mate waiting for him.she told me if he werent releaseable she would clip his wings and keep him for her personal yard bird. She reassured me he would technically be my bird {though we know these birds do not belong to anyone} since I had put so much previous effort into him, and had such a passion for getting him rehabilitated. Once the goose was in her care, she never gave me any updates on him period. I dont know that he ever saw her vet period. All I know is that I gave her a supply of antibiotics, special nutritional feed, and labwork. She then put a photo of him on her web page and is asking for donations for his medical care. This is a scam, as after several weeks I got ahold of her, and she emailed telling me he was released to the pond accross street from her. I made a trip over, and there was no goose.. And his picture remains on her web site. This was a Goose that I put my heart and soul into with the ultimate goal of getting him specific treatment and returning him to his home. To this date, I dont know whether he's dead or alive. The husband told me the other day that he had probably flown off to another pond. This poor goose needed care, and I placed him in the hands of people who have outright lied to me all along the way.. Its very sad, and I meant well. I saw Patchwork Parrots web site, and she states that she serves God, her husband and her birds.. I thought well, how could I go wrong with this person? Beware of ads where people comment on their faith, they are sometimes very untrue in reality. first off, the Goose never belonged in a 4x4 cage for any length of time, and she has used him for a money making scheme when in actuality she says the bird is gone. I have photos of his injuries, and he was not ready for release. She had given me her word and did a 180 as soon as he was in her possesion. This is concerning, and I will delve further into. I want the bird back, and I want him to get the treatment intended and for him to go back to his home.Soliciting donations over the internet arent necessary. The real deal is that my heart, and my pocketbook alone are here to provide for this little fellow. Just please beware of this patchwork parrot. This should not happen to anyone else in their dealings with this woman. I am sick over all the unnecessary deceit, and betrayel from her. Its outrageous ! |

Oh my, what a terrible story loveofgeese.
Now I know for sure that this person was not the right one to get a bird from. I posted my warning on 3 other bird boards so hopefully not many of us will have to deal with those people. Yes, that is her name: Leigh Anne Haygood! Beware please.

Yes, I intend to do the same. If she releases this bird back to me {to give to a person licensed to rehabilitate migratory waterfowl] I will let this go. My primary concern is for this poor goose who is being used as an internet ploy in order for her to capitalize on financially. This is NOT someone who has the birds best interest at heart, nor is it someone whose word means anything. She would not face me the other day when I drove 2 hours to south Atlanta to where this pond was that she said the goose was on and adapting well to his new surroundings.. I went over to their home around the block, and they had a carrier Ive been trying to get back from them, only to have a beat up version of another given instead, and basically told me to take it, and take a hike ! The husband came out to speak to me, and did all sorts of double talking how the bird took off once, etc, etc.. And directed me to some other ponds on old alabama around the corner. I must have gotten on the road and drove 8 miles in the middle of no where and found no ponds he directed me to. it was such a joke. This is serious, and Im not going away. I will follow through. Its not over. I personally had a goose captured not for internet marketing scams, but to sincerely help, and I owe it to him to see justice is served, however those cards may fall. If they release the bird TO ME, theyre off the hook, otherwise I need to save others from this experience. This lady promised and reassured so many things and I felt I interviewed her with wise judgement. She proved me terribly wrong. I do hope that your bird that you have recieved from Leigh Anne my dear, is bringing you much joy, and that you are totally in love with him/her just the same, in light of the fact that this womans word means nothing. your relationship with your new bird and love you two will share will make up for your disappointments tenfold !
Enjoy... |
