Rescued Parrotlet

Today I rescued a parrotlet that looks as if he had gone through and fought in world war 1 and 2. The back of his head is severly plucked, with new pin feathers coming through. His neck and belly are plucked too, and he is extremely exausted. I dont think he even has enough strength to preen himself. His beak is also strangly grown . I think it might be beak and feather disease? PDD ( I don't know the symptoms to PDD but i will reaserch it )? He was housed with another parrotlet, but the previous owners separated them last month.

His cage is ontop of a electric heat pad. ( he is being quarantined in my bathroom until I figure out what is wrong with him ).

We dicided to call him Tumble

Cass~

AWwwww poor wittle guy. Thanks for saving him...he could have just been a younger guy stuck in with a mature male who bullied him. Tell us what the vet says.

Maybe the other one picked on him? And could he have lost feathers that way?
What do you mean his beak looks weird?

I have a rescued parrotlet who came to me in not great shape. She had never gotten a bath before she came here! And she didn't have chew toys to wear her beak out on. She was in bad shape.

Is he eating well? Does he look underweight? Can you feel his little breastbone? Poor little one....
I'm glad you have the little one now! Good luck!
