1st HATCHDAY!!!



I was wondering if any of you had a recipe for a Parrotlet Hatchday Cake I could make for her to celebrate.

well I went birthday shopping for Jade yesterday! I got her 2 toys, a new perch, and caribbean crunch so she can try something different from nuts of alfredo which is the only Beak Appetite she has tried so far! I think even my friends are coming over to "celebrate" lol

Awwwwwwwwe, I don't know the hatchday of my little one....guess I'll have to make something up! Sorry...don't have a recipe for you, but I'll check back, maybe someone else will come up with one.

Ok the hatchday extravaganza has gotten out of hand! I went shopping online today and got her some two new types of treats, 3 new perches, one new toy, and I am most excited about her new jungle rope and natural wood cage-top play stand that has little food dishes and everything! I'll be sure to take "hatchday" pics when everything is set up but she has to wait until the 27th (of course the online purchase will be belated)! no spoiling her surprises! lol

I'm glad I'm using her hatchday as an excuse to get her some new things. She's so spoiled and happy!

How about hatchday muffins? I got this recipe from another site. I think they will be great and everyone will love them.

Birdie muffins

I used three boxes of the Jiffy Corn Muffin mix this time....
2 for the veggie and 1 for the fruit batch

For the veggie combo I added three eggs including the shells and...
-broccoli
-peppers
-tomato
-corn
-carrot
-parsely
-garlic
-navy beans (not a veggie but they LOOVE IT!)
-crushed red peppers
-I also add a little bit of parakeet seeds

total probably about 2-3 cups of veggies. I toss some in the food processor, and some I leave in bigger chunks.

My fruit combo included 2 eggs with the shells and about 1-2 cups total of the following
-blueberries
-apple
-banana
-cinnamon
-raisins
-some parakeet seed


It's always a huge hit. They smell soooo good. My boyfriend always complains about me making muffins for the birds but not him. Hehe... Ooops (Remember I said I got this from another site. I don't have a boyfriend. However, if I made these I am sure my husband would say the same thing! LOL)

Thanks for letting Pickie share Jadie's hatch day! I better go out and buy something special for him today! He's whistling his fav. little cat call now on the window sill in the shower (he gets to stay there for a little longer and play and preen...)soon he'll be back on my shoulder....
