Parrotlet Flight Cage?

I found one on Petco that is listed as a flight cage for a finch.. granted finches are still smaller, they are a comparable size to parrotlets. It is a 30" long x 18" tall x 18" deep. They want $49 with free shipping, but it ends on tuesday (just my luck, huh? Not much time, lol.) Will this be a decent sized cage for a p'let?

Get a regular flight cage. 18" is not much. I got mine at King's Cages. There are many great ones. Chipper flies all over and had lots of playgyms, but she still needs a very large cage and has a big flight cage.

I just posted a pic. on another thread, but here it is again.

Honestly, I am not trying to diminish your comment at all for I honestly appreciate your input, however I have noticed that most birds don't use the lower part of their cages. They tend to stay near the top. Also, I have seen a LOT of flight cages which are only 18-19" in depth. For example, my conure's flight cage is only 21" in depth (inside measurement). How deep are you recommending?

What are the dimensions of yours? That looks really similar to one I have for my conures... however it doesn't have the curved top... it's just a squre cube. (I don't think he minds! lol...)

i just got talon(my blue p-let) a cage like you are talking about crtoon83! same dimensions and he loves it! i had him in a bigger cage and he did not in fact use the bottom, this may be b/c he is so young. he is weaning right now and he stayed huddled in a top corner of the bigger cage. i put him in the smaller one and he plays all day long!

I have seen birds running from their owners and get stuck, have a heartattack, fall from different areas of the cage and break their necks, and catch themselves in the larger cages more often and hurt themselves.
This is what the breeder just wrote me back, and it makes a lot of sense. I will be getting one that is about 7 months old, still within the time which is good to bond with the new owner, but still a baby.

Depends how you set it up. I have toys and perches down lower, you can't really see them in the photo. She LOVES to crawl up and down. Her LONG rope perches are twisted up and down and around, not straight across. She shuffles all around! Hilarious.

She gets to have her door open and goes in and out to fly and play all day unless I am cooking etc.

Here is Bigboy's cage. It is wider than it is tall. He loves it. He goes all over and uses all parts of it. I have different types of perches and toys all around for him to play with.
