Keno and Dice

After much posting about Keno (the good, the bad and the ugly), I've finally decided to take some pictures of her and her new baby brother, Dice. I bought Dice at the Southern Ohio Bird Fair this past weekend in Sharonville, Ohio. I'm hoping that because he's so young, eight weeks to be exact, that she won't beat him up like she did to my foster parrotlet. If she does, they'll continue to always be caged seperate. No big deal really.

KENO
Six months old and very afraid of the camera. Sort of odd considering she's a T-Rex underneath that fluffy blue exterior.

DICE
Little eight week old Dice LOVES to be cuddled and can't really stand to be away from his mom, me. He's such a little clown.

Dice's good side. lol

From those pictures, Dice looks like a girl.

Lovely Parrotlets you have there! Hope they decide to get along. They sure can be bossy little birds :)

I really don't expect Keno to ever get along with Dice. She doesn't care about much of anything except for her toys.

Dice sure does look like a girl there but trust me, he's a little boy. He's got that mess of cobalt blue underneath those little baby bird wings. I'm thinking the blue around his eyes will darken/brighten as he gets older. He's sort of an odd green color that the camera really doesn't show too well. All of his down and under feathers are yellow. I know his mom was white and his dad was green but I'm thinking there's some yellow floating around in his gene pool.

This is very true! I bought a parrotlet that the breeder sold to me as a female only to find that he was all male! Over time, his colors brightened and he became even more beautiful than the other males that she had there. He will get darker over the next few months
