Does anyone know of a really good and sturdy travel cage?

About a week and a half ago I was in a car wreck, someone rear ended me on the interstate (everyone was ok). Thankfully that time I didn't have Cosmo in the car with me, but since he goes back and forth from College to home every weekend, he is in the car alot with me. When I had that wreck all I could think about was OMG what if Cosmo had been with me! I guess thats just the chance you taking when puting them in a car. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a really good travel cage to put him in. I'm hoping I can find one that is small enough that I can buckle it in the seat and one with low perches so if he falls he won't fall very far. The one I have now is just one of those little cheap cages pet stores sell for parakeets, the ones with the thin wires and the plastic bottoms. I always thought that was fine for a car ride twice a week, but since school is about to start back and he'll be in the car alot with me again, I'm afraid thats not good enough. I want to get one pretty soon. I don't really care how much it costs, my main concern is his safety. Thanks for any opinions!

I just got a King's aluminum travel cage, and that thing is sturdy. Heavy though!

You could always use one of the regular pet carriers that you use for pets on airplanes, just outfit it with a perch.

I've attached a pic of the King's one. This is the small in bronze. I wanted a sturdy one because we will be going camping with our little Buzz and I didn't want any sort of accident to happen (like dropping a flimsy cage and it breaking) that he could escape. But I wouldn't want to carry it very far.

I have this type of carrier size medium with the wire/ plastic carrier inside. The cloth exterior keeps the drafts out if it's cold outside. It even comes with a perch. I buckle it right into the passenger seat and they aren't going anywhere!

But now they have ones like this one that could still be buckled in.

i have used the Avian Select Bird Carrier at PETCO but ran into problems because my conure would bite the lid on the top and let himself out. If you have a chewer I would tape it shut.

Thanks Sugarbeth! I love that travel cage! The fact that it is so heavy just makes it better! I'm going to look into getting one of those!
Thanks!
