A Parrotlet dream
I don't know about others ever having dreams about their birds...this was a first for me. I dreamed that I was at a talk show, like David Letterman, and everyone in the audience was given a little Parrotlet to sit on their finger. All the birds were trained little babies and they all sat on everyones fingers. I remember cautioning people about going outside w/ them on their fingers....it was all so strange....like most dreams....

Hey guys,
I am new on this forum, I came here to seek your help regarding my bird(yellow) the lady who sold her to me said she was a parrotlet but now im a little confused after looking at other parrotlet's pictures online. I really hope you could help me figure out what kind of bird do I have so I can get proper food and stuff for her(is she a male or female)? Thank you. |

I once dreamed about my birds. I had a yellow budgie named Kiwi at the time and for some reason the President, George Bush, really wanted my parakeet because he heard about what a great bird he was. Oddly my first bird Polly, which we had for a month before he died, was also there and Bush wanted him too. In the end I sent him a letter saying that even a million dollars wouldn't be enough to get my birds! Did i mention I was 9 at the time?

OMG I dream about my birds ALL the time! At the risk of sounding like a loon, I will tell you that not long after getting our first bird, Simon, I started having dreams that he was sick or hurt in a flock of other quakers and I couldn't find him. I had a similar dream every single night for almost a week. I'd wake up in a cold sweat and sometimes in a panic. When we'd first gotten him, I'd opted to NOT have a full blood panel done at the vet, due to the expense. Well, hubby finally had enough and said we were taking Simon in if for no other reason than to ease my mind. As it turned out, he had Chlamydiosis, aka Parrot Fever. He had not developed ANY signs yet, and our vet said that by the time he did develop them, it well could have been too late. Add to that the fact that this is something humans can also get, and he may have just carried the disease and never developed symptons, BUT he still could have infected us, and eventually our other birds. All I can say is that I'm glad we went to the vet, and I will always trust my gut feelings.
