What keeps her on your finger?

OK once I get Illianna on my finger, she flys away. How do I get her just to sit there? Her wings are clipped and she is always headed downward, but she is a pretty fast walker! I tried holding onto her little feet with my thumb, but her feet are just too small for that kind of hold. So how do you guys, keep them sitting calmly on your finger?

could you try taking the bird into an unfamiliar room that is very small and sit on the floor facing the corner with it. Then perhaps when the bird figures out there is nowhere to go in the room they will have to turn to you. Parrotlets are really smart and catch on quick. Sometimes treats help too if they arn't too scared to eat or be interested.

jimpierce7 and Emmilyy true, maybe should've added that to my post :) On the other hand - when the bird decides *e wants to be more intimate with you it is because you've put time and patience in, and earned trust (which BTW can only be just that - earned and that can take its time)

I am working with her in her cage. I have been holding millet in my hand, and she is starting to eat it out of my hand, a little easier each time. It is going a little slower than I thought it would be, but I celebrate each little accomplishment.

Angelsmum: Actually that was the first answer that popped up in my head as well :)
However tempting as it may be i think the forum is best served with correct answers no matter how much the question cue an obvious one-liner ;)
