Cosmo

Today my mom was putting out Halloween decorations and was sitting on the floor in front of Cosmo's cage. Cosmo flew down to the floor to what she was doing and my mom didn't see him beside her a kind of rolled over on him. I don't think she put all of her weight on him but enough to make him yell. He flew to the back of the sofa and I picked him up and was petting his head and snuggling him up to me to calm him down and a bunch of feathers off the top of his head came off. Now he has this funny little bald spot on top of his head like an old man! We think he tried to get out from under my mom and scraped his head on the carpet and all those feathers came lose. For the rest of the night he just slept in his cage, which he never does when we're watching TV and eating dinner. Finally after he slept for about 3 hours he got up and played a little bit before his bed time. I don't think he was hurt in the ordeal, I think he was just a little freaked out. Other than just keep an eye on him, is there anything I can do? Do you think he could have hurt anything? It was just not like him to sleep through all the nightly activities.

Besides the feather loss, which I think is from trying to escape, I think he sounds ok. He was definitely probably freaked out and needed to take a time out and a nap to assess what just had happened - poor little guy! Just keep him comfortable, keep an eye on him and watch for any changes in behavior. I hope he's doing ok = )

He is back to his normal self today! Other than the really funny bald spot on his head he is fine! I'll have to take pictures, it was scary when it happened but now that he is ok all I can do is laugh at his old man hair do!
