yellow grass parrot

hey guys,just wondering if anyone has ever heard of a yellow grass parrot?as i bought one just recently from my local pet shop .it was in the cage with the normal green grass parrots and they told me it is a young female.could anyone confirm if that would be so?

Thats weird. I raise Australian grass parakeets and dont know what a normal green grass parrot is,LOL. Do you have a pic??

I bet its a Linnie. They are the only species of grass parrots that come normal in green and have solid yellow mutations. Long tail or short?? Does it kind of lean froward when perching??

hi,thanks for the info.i do not have picture at the moment but will take one tommorrow.yes it does lean forward a little and has a long tail.the wings have a small amout of light brown on them and the rest of the bird is yellow.just looked on the net for a picture of linnie's and looks exactly like the one i have.

Well good then. Yes it would be a grass parrot. But more accuratly a linoleated parakeet. LOL, I got one of my Rosey bourkes from a pet store it was in a cage with the budgies and it was a little bit more in price than the $20 with a sign that read "PINK PARAKEET" $35. Hubby started to speak out loud and I quickly Shushed him and said "I'll Take her". Too bad I hadnt been there a few days earlier - she came in with a mate!
