Talking Thank You!

Thanks so much! I guess it's the male I like, because I am very attracted to the yellow color, rather than the green.

Wow... I really am loving this bird.

Not sure you got my point? The picture I posted was of the Mountain Parakeets Bolborhynchus aurifrons...

The picture you posted, although LABELED as a "mountain parakeet" is a Regent Parrot aka Rock Pebbler Polytelis anthopeplus... Regardless, they are interesting looking birds!

Here's some topics (mostly old) that have talked about the Regents...

So, now here is my problem... where do I find a male hand-fed rock pebbler? I really aspire to a mommy to one of these babies! Just love everything about them. If anyone has any info on a reputable breeder of these beauties, please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

I think that your best bet is to search a site like birdbreeders.com. You can search by species and state. Many of the breeders who list there allow feedback, positive and negative alike. You might luck out and find someone who has pet quality babies for sale

It's such a shame -- the various Australian parrots & parakeets are just not that common here in the US. Rock Pebblers are really interesting.

Here are some interesting links:

O/T: BTW -- I was in Manchester, Exeter & Laconia this past weekend! NH is such a pretty state. Can't wait to get back for another visit
