The lexicon of parrots only lists Green Cheeked Amazons, and I remember reading a convo somewhere talking about what type of amazon one bird was... From Lexicon of Parrots and the description of Mexican Redhead Amazons, I'd believe that they would be the same type of bird... Add to that, check out http://www.islanderz.com/parrots.html as they say that the green cheeked and redhead are the same type of amazon...

actually
there are different birds that resemble to the Mexican RedHead. Example: Red Lenores, Red Crown, etc. Many birds have green cheeks and a red top. My suggestion is to look at pictures of the species and pay close attention to the details of the appearances and compare them to another breed.

The Green Cheeked Amazon does seem to closely resemble the Salvins Red Lored Amazon, although in the Lexicon of Parrots they are not the same parrot. One noticeable difference is that the Salvins Red Lored Amazon has a bill that is both grey and horn colored, where the Green Cheeked Amazon has a horn colored, only, bill. Another subtle difference is that their eye rings are slightly different colors. There are other subtle differences, too, if you do the comparison according to the Lexicon of Parrots.
