Linnies don't need to be kept in pairs. If you have the room and inclination to do so, great! If not, a single linnie will do well if you provide him/her with plenty of toys and social interaction.

They are pretty laid back and quiet compared to other parrots of their size, like lovebirds. They make this uber-cute chuckling noise and have the biggest, most adorable eyes.

Very high on my list of "when I can have another bird..." list!

I think you have this same topic under budgies too so you may want to check out some of the answers there. You tube is another great place to look.

Personally they seem to like being in pairs, but you can have a happy single linnie to as long as you are willing to give it extra attention.

I have a linnie named Jellybean and he is the most precious little thing.
Makes budgies noises as well as imitates my other birds and I swear he talks, but with all the other noise going on it is hard to hear him.

He is by himself with toys to play with and when he comes out he goes to visit my plumheads.

He adores bath time.

You can't go wrong with them - if I had discovered them sooner I would have a house full of them.

You do have to keep your eye on them though when they are out or they will "disappear" quickly. They think they are big birds without the size.

We have a linnie named Baby Joey. He has a bum leg, but don't tell him that! He's my little monkey. He does talk, he says "Baby Joey" and "Gimme a kiss" and he can mimic any whistle that he hears. We all love his laid back sweet personality. He is quite the character!

Mine has a bum leg too! He gets around very well regardless. Course I have a rack for him to lie on and a ladder that is horizontal for him as well.

Yep, I modified Baby Joey's cages, too. He has 2 cages, a sleep cage and a play cage. In both cages, I used vet wrap on the wooden perches, have a shelf, plenty of rope perches, and I have cushioned the bottom just in case he falls. In his sleep cage he has a hut that he sleeps in. It is so cute because he scurries in there then pokes his head out the other side and lets it hang down to sleep. <3
