Linnies and tiels?

I have a young cockatiel at the moment, and was thinking of getting a companion for my little guy. I was told that cockatiels are too passive for the hyperactive conures and parrotlets, but was told that linnies would do the trick!

Can any of you confirm this from experience? Is the temperment of a linnie that similar to a cockatiel?

That is a Linnie owner forum & lots of people on that forum have cockatiels too...

I wish I had a linnie breeder close to me.

You aren't planning on caging them together are you? I have a linnie, but not a cockatiel so I can't really answer that question. I will say that my linnie doesn't like any of my other birds, but she is super sweet!

Hi Peanutbutter,

Whereabout are you located? The site you linked to has a Breeder Directory, so perhaps you can find one near you there?

Yep Nick, I've checked the linnie forum posts & breeders directory, birdbreeders.com, craigslists all over my state, kijiji 800mi radius, and also basic web searches... over the past months.
The only linnies I have seen advertised in my area were wild aviary birds.

Just wasn't in the cards. Thats okay though because I adopted baby Meena.... I think 2 birds is plenty!
