Ok...I'm having some issues with my Maximillian.
About five months ago, I switched him to organic pellets and upped his intake of fresh veggies and fruits. (He'd been used to seed diet from Kaytee). Then two months ago, he went through what I can only describe as a hard molt. I did take him to the avian vet and have him checked out because I was concerned. I have read several bird books that say feather loss is a sign of something serious. The vet couldn't find anything wrong with him--perfectly healthy bird. He is still loosing the feathers (although not frequently as before). I was afraid he might be naked if this kept up, but brand new beautiful feathers grow in as soon as one pops out. My question is: is this feather replacement due to the change to a healthier diet? Or is it more serious and should I get a second AV opinion?

What is the new pellet?
It could be that he's plucking or having an allergic reaction to the pellets...
