Question Anyone else's pionus do this or is Monty werid?

Does anybody else's pionus wheeze when you are petting them? Monty started doing that a few days after I got him (scared me half to death the first time) and I spoke to his last owner and she said he never did that with her. (I guess that's supposed to be a compliment, lol) I know they wheeze when they get excited but this is the only time he does it and I worry that he might be getting excited in the wrong way. It gets to where he will be panting so hard that it's like a fan is blowing on me and I stop petting him to let him calm down a little. Is this a mating behavior or does he just REALLY like my scritches?

It's kind of freaky to watch...he'll lean down and gently bite my shirt, cage, finger or whatever is available and then wheeze like crazy with his eyes closed
