Beekers coming around..

Well, We have had little beeker aka BAKER for almost a week and he has let me hold him and touch him. He finally let us get him out of his cage with no biting. He will not fly, doesn't even try. he will flap but then stop. His wings are not clipped so I am not sure as to what to think....It is fine, since he will climb where he needs to get on his cage. He only leaves his cage for mommy or daddy.
He loves the birdie bread that I make for him. Loves fruits and well the bread hides the veggies...LOL
He does not like water so we are working on getting him closer and closer to the sink and letting the water run for him to get some idea that he needs to get a bath..Kinda like the kids...LOL

We are just so happy that he has come along so much so fast for us..Mind you they told me he was not tame or you were not able to handle him.. Thanks to Ava, I have lots of time and patience...

Here are a few picture of us holding him..

The second picture, is me holding him as he is eating a almond..He is so messy...

It's great that he is coming along so well! I absolutely adore my WC Monty. I think they are just adorable!
He might be flying right now since he's still getting used to being there and isn't quite sure if it's safe. One thing I have learned with Monty is that he likes his veggies in stick form and he will not eat them any other way. His absolute fav are peas in the pod and now he loves green beans as well since I showed him there was a bean inside. He loves red pepper, carrot and squash also. He likes apples too but goes nuts over pomegranate. He will do anything for a sunflower seed and to get him to start trying new veggies (carrots especially) I put a hole in the middle and let him watch me put a sunflower seed in the hole. When I gave it to him he had to chew the carrot apart to get the seed out and after a few times of doing that he eats carrots now. I have also let him watch me wrap up a seed in some kale and gave it to him. He still isn't crazy about kale but he will take a couple bites of it.
He is also a lot more willing to try new things if I put them in his foraging toys. He loves his foraging toys! He has taught me to be very creative with veggies that's for sure!

He is a spoiled little fid here...He has all of us wrappped around his little feet...
The funny thing is that we like it....

He flew for a little bit yesterday, just to avoid the water from the sink. I do not think he knows what a bath is. We will work with him and soon he will come around more.
