Coming up on 5 mo old, when should be his first big molt?

Ok so I've seen a few down feathers here and there and he is starting to be demanding and needy (wanting to only stay on me instead of his play gym, which is opposite of how he has been). He has also had a HUGE appetite the past couple of days. This made me start wondering, is Griffin getting ready for a molt or is he just being young? When do Pionus go through their first big molt and what should I expect/prepare for/do? Griffin is a Male BH Pionus with a DOH of 7/8/08. Thanks for the help!

I think the first molt is usually between 4-6 months on average..mine suns only 3 1/2 months so i havent gone through it yet either :)
