Talking I think Monty might be a girl, lol

Monty has been a bit hormonal lately, worse now that I'm not home that much. Whenever I start to pet him he will stick his tail out a little and make squeaking/honking noises while I'm petting him. In my experience from other birds isn't this usually more female behavior? He is 11 years old and has never laid any eggs. I'm planning on having him DNA'd to be sure just cuz the curiosity is killing me! Monty might be a Mona...to bad he knows his name

I don't think Monty sounds like a male name... You could keep the name. I think it's cute. :)

Haha I know a guy named Monty... seems kind of weird to me to have a girl named Monty because of that, but I think it's been done before!

That happened with one of my cockatiels, thought he was a girl and my brother decided to name her 'Stacy'.... turns out he was a guy lol. The name is stuck, though ;)

Same thing happened with one of my mom & dad's cockatiels. When they got her, they named it Percy, thinking it was a "he". Lol...several months later "Percy" laid eggs and then became "Priscilla" hahaha

I have to be honest, I still haven't gotten around to sending in the DNA kit so I still don't know. I'm really guessing he's a girl though. Poor guy (or girl) living 11 years of his life as a he, lol.
