Sennie and other birds

I wasn't going to do this quite yet. But ended up getting a Budgie about 4 days ago. I am keeping him in a seperate room of the house and all. But Daisy saw him when I brought him in, and she does NOT like him at all. Do you think this will pass as she gets use to idea of another bird in the house? I know it will be some time before I can introduce them and all. But I honestly don't see it going good. She looked at me like HOW DARE YOU!!! LOL She has heard him today making his little noises, and she has talked back. Whether it's good or her literally saying GET OUT is beyond me. He's really a super sweet little Budgie and I hope they can get along when they do finally meet.

I am almost positive I am going to have to make 2 seperate play areas for them in the same room. That way they can both get my attention during the day. I just don't want Daisy to hurt him. I know a few of you have more than one bird, so can you tell me how to actually introduce them when the time is right. I had not planned on a Budgie as a second bird, but he captured my attention as I was at the pet store and I could not leave him there. I've been trying to split my time between Cosmo and Daisy for the past few couple of days. I'll really be glad when I can put them atleast in the same room. ANy ideas of how to make this work when I do get the two of them together???? I'm really scared Daisy is going to be nasty!!!

typically Sennies do not play well with others. Zoey does not nicely interact with any of my other three. Sophie is the only one she does not aggressively go after.......... until she turns her back. lol

casper does like to hear other birds calling (and she'll excitedly call back every time we go to the bird shop) but will have nothing of me handling other birds.

in fact, the only sennie i ever heard of welcoming another bird into the family was on another board... the guy bought one of a pair of sisters, felt something was missing, and went and got the other one.

Well looks like I am going to have to have seperate play areas and all. And keep Cosmo far enough away to where she can't get to him. I am going to eventually move his cage into the family room with Daisy, so hopefully she will adjust a little better to him. I'll just be extra careful with the two of them around one another. He's really a sweet little bird. I kinda feel sorry for him being in a room all by himself. I've so far managed to split my time fairly between the two of them. Looks like Sennies just don't like to share their mommy's. LOL But we will work it all out I am sure.

Daisy has never really wanted alot to do with my youngest son that is 8 up until last night. He was coming into the kitchen to ask me a question about homework and she literally jumped off of her cage and grabbed ahold of his shirt from the back as he was walking by. Course my son almost freaked out cause he thought she was attacking him. LOL Not that she ever has or anything. She just didn't want him to touch her while I was holding her. That all changed for some reason last night. She let him hold her and pet her after that. It was really funny.
