Yes, he gets all the loving from Houdini the Sennie, but I have the hawkhead Chula bonded with me. Just one big happy family.

I realize I am replying to an thread that is old but thought I would put in my two cents for whatever it is worth. I just bought a Sennie from Omar's in OC several months ago. They paid for a vet visit and I was very impressed with the vet. They also gave me a health guarantee. I am also impressed by the manager at Omars. I like the way she raises the babies. I also like the fact that you can handle the birds in the store. They are not behind cages but are on big dish like contraptions that hang from the ceiling. I feel that the birds are more socialized then the ones I see behind cages but that is just me. I didn't have to work to try and get the bird to go on my hand he was already trained.

Anyway I also have a Sun and the Sennie is a lot quieter. The Sennie is cute, friendly and loves neckrubs. He is also a bit bitey. My mother, who is 97, can handle the Sun but the Sennie bites her so he is in his cage until I get home from work. I do let him out before I leave though.

I love the cage they sold me at Omar's. It is very easy to clean with a pull out grate. I have another type cage for my Sun and it is not as easy to clean.

Somewhere in one of these threads they talk about socializing you Sennie and I agree with that. Right now mine is becoming a one person bird. He does not talk but did pick up a sound imitation. He tried to say welcome but I think I have to work on that more. My Sun does talk but so far the Sennie does not imitate him. I will say that I can not put the two birds together but then I have had the Sun for a couple of years and she/he is territorial.

I do think you should visit Omars several times like you have been doing and if you connect with the bird then get it.
