My sennie's idea of dessert...

Every night the birds (my sun conure and sennie) eat with us. After they finish, they go on the playtop of the conure's cage, where the senegal goes straight to chewing the newspaper on the top of the cage. Anyone else have a sennie that likes dessert?

Goofy birds...

Talking

Yup--my Sennie Max loves to eat clean socks still warm out of the dryer. Last night I was folding the laundry after dinner, with Max perched on the laundry basket. He helped himself to a pair of my son's sport socks, started chewing and refused to give them up. He was really just ripping lint balls off them and tossing them everywhere. I had to distract him and ended up trading him a facecloth for the socks. Then I had to bribe him with a grape to get him to give up the facecloth. He normally likes to make off with interesting objects, like pens, jewelry, note paper, etc. and will actually make marks on a note pad with a pen, as long as it's his favourite blue one. He's scared of pencils, though, and will try to attack one if it gets too close. He's also made a meal out of the function keys on this IMac (that's how he got his name) and has removed most of the keys from our TV remote. We try to keep it away from him, but sometimes he marches across the back of the couch, scrambles down and hops onto the coffee table and helps himself. So I guess Sennies have a taste for unusual gourmet dining. He has a toy box of unwanted items --old credit cards, key chains and knickknacks, but he'd rather just filch our stuff and trash it!

Sounds like Savery's looking for a napkin to wipe his beaky after dinner! My male Sennie, Djimo loves fortune cookies, except he wants them still in the plastic wrapper. The crinkling plastic almost seems to make him mad! He munches and tears until he gets to the cookie, takes a few bites and then throws it on the floor. We always like to read his fortune afterward! My girl Sennie, Sage, is a piglet and will eat just about anything. She is also a thief like Max and will steal pens, jewelry and other small objects and fly off with them. Her favorite crime is to sneak a fridge magnet off while she is on top of the fridge and fly back to her cage with it. She is particularly gleeful if she can then drop it on the floor and it breaks!
