update on the sennnie babies...

ok, i wasnt gonna pull these babies til next weekend...but we discovered that the oldest has a splayed leg!! it was an accident that i even found out about it now, i just HAD to pick up the babies when i did their daily check today, and i was surprised to see the splayed leg. today was the first time i actually touched the babies

another problem...i think the parents might have nibbled off the oldest baby's little toenail :( he has a knub there now, he still has his whole toe, the only thing missing is his toenail :( they must have done it a long time ago, cause it doesnt even have a scab or dried blood or anything, it has been completely healed up for a while now its not gonna inhibit any of his movements when he gets older though :) hes gonna act completely normal later on, and thankfully, i just had to pick them up and i discovered his splayed leg early enough to easily fix it!!

here they are, see how big they have gotten in the last 2-3 days?!!?

look at the two babies....the older one also has darker skin around his eyes, and around his nostrils.... my meyers babies have the same things going on with their diff skin colors, but their feathering comes out the same....i always wonder if the lighter babies will have alot of yellow feathers later on when they mature?? i wanna keep some of my babies and see if they look any different later on than they do as babies....i find it interesting that clutchmates have diff colored skin, LOL some of our breeder birds have a ton of yellow :)

here is the older one, and his little sponge :( he hates it, but its gonna fix his leg, so he just has to deal with it for a few days its arleady working!! when i first pulled him, his leg was stiff and i could barely make him curl up his leg like it should normally, but now his leg looks normal and with all of his moving around, his leg isnt really stiff anymore!!

you can see his dark eyes too....

this is the younger baby :D

look at this face!! LOL

I recently had a Timneh chick that had to be cobbled because of splay leg.
It took about 5 days total. In that time there was alot of checking for circulation, moist massage with aloe gel and positioning to get her feet in the normal growth position. They grow so fast, daily..:)

She is perfect now, as I hope your sennie will be..:)

I used to breed sennies, thankfully, all those bappies were good at 10 days old.
That's when we pulled them from the parent birds. They are a true JOY to raise...:):)
