Oh, the waiting is driving me nuts. lol The breeder and I talk pretty much every day and that's helping a bit...but the next approx 2 weeks are going to go by slooooow. lol I've moved and rearranged the cage a half dozen times...gotta do something to bide the time. lol Doesn't help I fell in love with her the second she flew onto my finger. :-)

It sounds like she's getting close to being weaned...she's eating food and drinking on her own even though the the breeder is still hand feeding her. Shouldn't be long. I think I know what Matches mom was going through. lol

haha, well, i know what the waiting feels like, even though i always raise my own babies....my type of waiting is for my breeder's eggs to hatch!! i keep looking at the nestbox that has eggs in it....then i look inside the empty brooder anxiously waiting for the day i get to pull the cute little babies and stick them in the brooder for handfeeding then i have to make sure we have plenty of newspaper and paper towels, and i gotta make sure the shredder is working so we can have plenty of nice new bedding for the babies.....Grrr, im waiting for cockatiels and alexandrines to hatch right now!! and now we also have plum head eggs!! i cant wait!! LOL

I would love to handwean a baby parrot! I have only done it with doves. If matches is female it would be cool to breed with her once cos she is so pretty. I have tamed lots of birds..most i have tamed at once is 10 muscovy ducklings...so cute although easy cos all you had to do was find the leader and tame that and then all the others would follow lol. ootherwise usually 4 tiels at a time maybe 5.

And YES THE WAIT IS SO WORTH IT!!! So much better than just buying from a petshop cos then you have the time to get worked up and excited then BAM FINALLY HOME YAY PARTY!! Well thats what i felt like lol.
