never saw it and cant find a pic of it online but it sounds like a mutation, strange that there are two of them, were they related?
the 3 subspecies of senegals are red belly, orange belly and yellow belly(cant remember the 'proper' names:P) and they all look the same 'cept the belly color.

Here's what I've learned. The periopthamalic ring in Poicephalus in general is more pronounced in the wild. In captivity, some breeders see a darkening of the ring when the birds are in season.
If you go to www.images.google.com and put in "Poicephalus Senegalus", you will get about 5 pages of images and you can see the differences in the eye rings. None of these are as pronounced as what we saw, but now I understand what we were looking at.
