Looking for 1st FID

Hello Everyone,

So as like the title entails I am interested in getting my first bird. I am recently new to the bird world, I never realized the pet quality of birds. Since I have been interested I have read countless amount of information from care to behavior to make sure this is something that I am willing to take on since birds can live a very long time.

Currently I am not in a place that would allow me to have a bird but that
will be changing in the next 3 months, but in the meantime I have gone to as many different bird stores as I can, I have talked to many different people, and have met many different birds and their unique personalities, because of this have somewhat of an idea of what would be the best choice for me and my better half, but at the same time it is a bit overwhelming because it is hard to choose just one (They are all so adorable).

Me and my fiance will have plenty of time to interact with the bird, but we will be living in an apartment, so I'm afraid that noise could be a bit of an issue for neighbors. Talking ability isn't too important to me, all though it would be a plus. I want an outgoing, not too large bird, thats noise level is low to moderate and would be a good bird for a couple of patient first timers. Just wondering if a Poicephalus parrot would fit into this category?

meyers and red bellies are two of my top fave birds!! they are quieter, very silly and very affectionate :) you can read a little bit more about our experiences with these two species at these links:

Sweet Skies Aviary — Meyers Parrot (Poicephalus meyeri) — Quiet, Fun, and laid back.

Sweet Skies Aviary — Red-Bellied Parrot (Poicephalus rufiventris) — Sweet, Fun, Intelligent.

I love Pois. The top 4 birds that i'm researching and am considering are the meyers, the eclectus, the senegal, and the jardines. I keep coming back to the meyers and the eclectus. I love the senegal but I have heard they tend to be more one people birds and I want a more sociable bird, and I don't know much about the jardines.
Really red bellies, I have heard not so good things about them, everyone I have talked to has said they easily go back to being untamed. I do realize it is how the breeders raise them and socialize them, so if they are as good as you say sadly I have met many that were not raised properly. Thank you though I will definitely look more into red bellies.

let me show you a little vid of one of my BREEDER red bellies. all my red bellies are breeders, ive got 6 of em. they are all awesome, they LOVE people. they will always come to the front of the cage when i go over to them. some of them talk, one male likes to say hello to me when i go over and some of the others have started to mumble words to me. i can give and recieve kisses from all of them, and they love to whistle and "beak click" back to me, they really are awesome!! one of my females just LOVES me, i swear she wants to be a pet, and im seriously considering pulling her out of the breeder room and bringing her in here with the pets to be my pet. she dances and clicks and regurgitates for me, and shes one of my "mumblers" too. i can pet her and rub her beak and she has never ever bitten me. she also very happily takes treats from me, actually, ALL my red bellies will take treats from our hands.

anywho, this vid is just a little, small demonstration of some of the things this female lets me do. for some reason she doesnt like to dance or click or give kisses in front of the camera, lol.

Awww she seems like such a sweetie. You are very lucky to have breeders who love you so much.

my moustached and most of my alexandrines are also the same way :) none of my breeder red bellies or alex's have been handled in YEARS, its pretty amazing how tame they are for breeders.
