Senegal Parrot

I think im going to be getting a senegal in 2 weeks, ive done lots of research, but every websites says different things, like one said they were extremely one-personed, another said they needed lots of people to interact with.

What is a GOOD website that has the right information?
Do they like to cuddle, be on you, ect?
And is there anything special I should know about these little guys?

Personally, I really like Sennies and think there are many more positives to them than negatives. When it comes to finding information on them or any companion parrot there is plenty of contradictory information. So much depends on their environment, socialization and daily interaction that these differences lead to different opinions.

What is a GOOD website that has the right information?” -- I may be biased because I developed it from my research and personal experience, but I’ve also received a great deal of positive feedback from people who have visited Pepper’s Web Site. I’m in the process of doing a major updating to it now, but hopefully you’ll find it enlightening and helpful in understanding about sharing your life with a Sennie.

Do they like to cuddle, be on you, ect?” – Pepper loves to cuddle. He often nuzzles to elicit some scritches. He’ll lie down on his back in the palm of my hand. As I give him scritches, he’ll make a low, parrot, purring-like sound.

And is there anything special I should know about these little guys?” – Just know that they love to be loved, but they also have their moments where they need to be left alone.

If you end up with one, good luck with sharing your life with a Sennie.

I don't know about that sight............... it seems to have information based on somebodys experience!! With Senegals no less!!! Once again I say good job Pepper's Pa, with your webpage.

Zoey is a one person bird mostly because I was the one person who played with her all the time. The others in my house hold didn't spend time with her so she bonded just to me. I believe Sennies are awesome!!

So do I. mine is affectionate. Talks all time to me. Does think he's the Big Bird in the house. Jealous when I interact with one of the others. I do not let him near them.
