Gosh he's cute. I won't let Davey see those pictures of him. He'll be jealous of all those cool looking toys. I think I need to find one of those tree stands (?) that Jasper gets to play with.

I finally could open these pictures. He is so cute. Is Jasper a male if so will he loose his orange head feathers and get the orange wing feathers? I just love that face. Keep me posted in how he is changing. Harley is a very silly bird and I hope Jazz is the same, it's more fun then anything.

this didn't get posted the first time i will try again- yup hes a boy, so he will
lose his orange splotch on his forehead and get orange socks and wing feathers instead . He is a real sweetie, no nipping yet, just loud squawking when he is annoyed with us.

What does harley eat? We are still working on the vegetables, he likes baby carrots and snow peas, kale is ok, and some dried veggies. He likes his golden feast, and pellets. he would eat nuts all day long if i would let him.

I wanted to add this pic of him with his pacifier, he walks around with it in his mouth - he IS silly

That picture is too cute. Their faces make it look like they are always up to something. Eating is an issue with Harley - He eats snap peas some time. No other vegies. I have tried them all and eat them first to let him see. He tries everything and than just drops it. He eats pellets mostly, RoudyBush, he came already eating them. He likes seed and nuts and would eat them all day. Right now I try to get him to eat a couple of Table spoons ful of the pellets before giving anything else. He loves his nuts in the shell. I give him Brizil and Walnuts and they are hard to find in the shell this time of year. I have been getting them from Foster and Smith.
Harley says "stop it" when he doesn't want me to do something. The words he picks up arn't the ones I try to teach but the ones that are said around him the most.
I love hearing about jazz, I wish I had know harley as a baby. Keep me posted.

Thanks for sharing the great images of Jasper. The one with the pacifier is extra cute.

When my Senegal, Pepper, gets into playing with the same pacifier he’ll eventually hold it by the ring in his foot and will wave it all around. Eventually, he’ll hold the ball in his foot and snap off the ring with his beak. I dispose of the broken ring and he keeps enjoying the remainder of the pacifier for a long time.

As for some other foods to try, I’d recommend broccoli, sweet potatoes (raw or lightly steamed), sugar snap peas, bell peppers, cooked beans, multigrain pasta (with or without tomato sauce), hard-boiled egg white (including pieces of the cooked shell) and some fully cooked white-meat chicken. If you haven’t seen it, The Healthy Bird Cookbook is a great food reference to use.

I look forward to hearing more updates (with images too please) of Jasper.
