Thumbs up net pics

We hung Jazz' climbing net this weekend to see if he would like it. Boy did he!

I wrapped some edges with vet wrap where ends of sisal stuck thru, so he wouldn't unravel them, and he flew to the floor so he could clumb while i was finishing it!

now that we know he likes it we are going to attach it to a header so it hangs more evenly.

I sent a reply yesterday but it looks like you didn't get it. I love the
net and was wondering if you made it or bought it. Jazz looks like he is having a great time and I think Harley would love one. He loves climbing all over and hanging upside down. It seems these Gray Heads (Capes) are a joyful lot who want to play and be silly most of the time.

Jazz

Beth,

I love your photos of Jazz. I am on a waiting list for a p.f.f. hen from Wingnuts Aviary and just love to hear your updates about Jazz.

If you would not mind I would love to ask you questions about cages, food, toys, playgyms, etc. Although it might be several months to next year before I get my baby, I'd like to get items gradually.

Thanks!

Ivy Mom

Ivy Mom, Ask away! any help i can offer is yours! Maggie is a fabulous breeder, Jazz came to us super well socialized, stepping up, and wanting to be with people. I can't say enough good things about her or Jazz.! Where are you from? Our only concern was shipping, (he had to change flights) but he was a trooper and came thru with flying colors. we are in northern NJ, and had to go to laguardia, nyc to pick him up.

Yup, I made it and had the blisters to prove it! lol. it wasn't hard just time consuming. I tried to post this yesterday & it didn't take. Jazz is sleeping on a play stand next to me as I type making the cutest noises. I love this guy! Ahhh, he just woke up and found his all time favorite toy. It is from Cage Ware. It comes in 2 different shapes, Teddy Bear, and Duck. Each has cotton rope iwth hard plastic rings threaded thru it. Only $3.88 at Walmart, slightly more at petsmart. With his beak I thought he would like bigger
toys but he prefers smaller wood pieces so far.

That looks great! Can you tell me how you made it and what type of rope it is that you used?

Jazz

Hi Beth,
I think I will start a new thread entitled "Cape questions" !!!

I love the net also. My niece made one for my green cheek conure and she
loves it. My tiel is afraid of it :0

I've been looking at getting another larger, bird for a long time. I've looked at
red bellies, timneh greys, other conures, and pionus. Then I found Thor's page (like you!) and starting reading everything I could find about the Cape.

I really like greys but my husband has asthma and my dog now has chronic bronchitis. Just the dust from my tiel is bad and I have an air filter beside her!

So the Cape sounds so cool. Maggie says they are like conures in that they are silly and playful. And they supposedly talk a lot. But talking is something that I would consider a special gift - it is not a reason for buying a bird, IMHO. And that face with its sweet, goofy smile!!

So check out my questions in the "Questions about Capes" thread :0
BTW - I live in SW Va. & will probably have my baby shipped also unless it is too cold :( then I will drive!

Ivy Mom
