not sure yet.......

but I think Zoey did a little plucking/barbering. Remember a while back when she came home a bit sore from a wing clip and nail trim? She laid on my chest for almost three hours and slept. I think she also got a poor clip that day. At first I thought maybe it was her being too close to Sophie so I rearranged cages. I noticed the feathers missing under her wings across her back as well as hit and miss areas on her chest and legs.
She also happened to be molting so I wrote it off as such. This was a month ago I rearranged the cages. This is also why I let her flights grow out and we all know the scare I had with that!!!
Since the last trim after the scare she seems more back to normal. But she has a hard time with molts. There hasn't been any more mornings or times of pile of feathers on the cage bottom. Poor girl just looks mangy right now.
I'm just hoping that the feathers aren't growing back as fast I would like them to and its all the molt.

I hope Zoey isn’t beginning to have a feather plucking/barbering problem. From all I’ve read it’s not common in Senegals, but it does happen on occasion. Have you eliminated it as being caused by an allergy to a new food you’re feeding her? Also, have you tried giving her mist baths with a 10% Aloe to 90% water mix.
Good luck and please keep us updated on her progress.

she hasn't done it for a month. That I'm tickled about. As much as she doesn't like showers or mists I give them to her any way. There hasn't been anything new to her diet. Wat is messing up is it did happen during her molt but it doesn't look like it is from the molt.
