Silly Shilo & got her a new cage........

My crazy little Red Bellied parrot Shilo has the strangest sleeping position. She likes to sit on her food bowl, put her butt up and hang her head down, see...... (She's awake here, because mean Mom turned the lights on to take this picture!)

Oh and yesterday I got her a new cage at the swap meet from a guy that sells bird supplies (no birds, just supplies). It was only $95 and it was too big to fit in my car, so he was nice enough to deliver it me after the swamp meet, so I gave him an extra $5. He wanted to give me my change back, but I told him no since gas was so expensive, anyway, here is Shilo's new home, it is 30"W x 18"D x 36"H. She LOVES it and climbs all over the place!

As you can see in this picture, she is asleep in the upper right hand corner of the cage, YES, that's her butt!
Oh and please ignore the messy floor, Shilo was flapping around playing in there and blew crud on the floor and it's after 10pm and I don't feel like cleaning it up.

I have done research on cages recently, and this is one of the best styles you can get. They are very roomy and wide. Good choice!

I love her new cage Lisa! Sounds like you got a deal on it! Up until this week Butters has slept standing on the perch snuggled up to his corner cozy. Well the last two nights I've caught him sleeping just like Shilo-perched on his food bowl with his butt up and head down! Crazy...I've never seen him do it before. Anyway, she's too cute and I love her new cage!

My Meyers Sidney sleeps exactly like that too. From the very first night that we had him he sleeps on his swing with his head down and butt up in the air. Must be pretty comfy!

Good deal on the cage....I need to move to California. She's a cutie. She looks a little annoyed with you there. Waking her up for a picture....humans are so weird. :)

I really like the different levels of that cage! My Senegal Sammie used to sleep in the upper corner of his cage hanging upside down like a bat! He would go to his favorite perch later on , but always started out like that for at least an hour. I got him a snuggle hut and since then he runs right into his hut when hes ready for bed.
