Exclamation Senegal chirping

Hi everyone. I was finally able to bring Cassiel home 2 days ago. I have a question about the noises she occassionally makes. When I'm there and not giving her any attention, she makes these chirping noises. When I'm not home, my roommate says he hears the same noises coming out of my room. The only other time I've heard these noises was when I was at the store and the person there said that it was their 'begging' noise. I'm wondering if she is not eating enough and is hungry and wants me to feed her. One of the worries after bringing a baby home is the fact that she might not eat. I've seen her eating a little bit, and normally her poo has some stuff in it, but occassionally it is just urine. I'm just wondering if anyone has any insights. Thanks!

well I know Jessica does that all the time, and the longer we have had her the more she churps and squaks. I don't think I'd worry about it. She is likely singing and churping to herself to make her feel better as she is new to your home.

I also use to worrie about her grinding here beak when she was sleepy but this is totaly normal.

Right now our squaks as soon as we get out of her sight. then she will laugh and make the sound of the kitchen doors opening and closing. then we yell back "yes jessica, we're in the kitchen."

do you have the book "Guide to the senigal Parrot"? its a great book with lots and lots of good advise.

yea, I have the Guide to Senegals. It does have some good insights. I am hoping she doesn't sing TOO loudly to herself. I live in an apt, thus the quieter the better.

We just brought our little Senegal, Peeps, home and he makes soft chirping noises throughout the day. It is quieter, so far, than our caique and our tiels and keets. I believe, although I am just learning about senegals, that is natural for them to make soft chirping sounds. He seems louder first thing in the morning at sun-up.
