Pictures of my Red-bellied parrot

I guess I'll do like I did when I posted pictures of my Senegal and share a bit about my Red-bellied.

He's a male Red-bellied named Joey that entered my life just before he turned 3 years old this past March. His former owner had to let him go. Joey immediately took to my boyfriend and wasn't always keen to step up for me and would bite more readily (however, he would be an "easy" bird with whatever male friends we had that would try and pick him up). I've worked with him on that and now he rarely bites and will also want to come see me. He lives up to the Red-bellied's reputation of "clown bird"...He's an absolute hoot to have around and will show off for just about everyone. He says a couple of distinct words, but is more of a mumbler.

Ok now for some pictures.

I love this one

Looking like he's saying "hi!"

Joey is so cute, and I love the picture where he's waving at the camera! Pretty red eyes, too!

I use a Pentax K100D. Lately I've been using it with a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 lens (which is one of my favorite lenses).

Beautiful!! I have wanted a red bellied for a long time. Is it true that they spook easily?
People say that they are an ideal bird, playful, not too big, cuddly and not too noisy. What do you think?????

very good looking birdie - i know a handful of people with red-bellied, but not many... seems they're still somewhat rare in homes
