Poi pictures from this past week-end

I wanted to take pictures badly this week-end and the cold pretty much convinced me to stay inside. Thus, my birds were once again my chosen subjects.

Here is Joey, in what I think resembles a thoughtful pose. Really, I'm quite impressed that I managed to get one of him NOT preening, which he tends to compulsively do whenever a camera is in his face.



Here is one of Petey. It's hard taking pictures of Petey. If she's on a play gym, she'll run towards me and try to leap on me and end it most likely with a bite...So for me to get this shot, I had to convince my boyfriend to put her on a perch and stay near just in case she decided to go somewhere. She was a little upset with him for dumping her there..



Finally, my "classic poser" Shade. Not much to say but that she's more cooperative than the other birds.

They're all gorgeous. I must admit I have a bias towards red-bellies, so my favorite is Joey. He looks so striking!

It's a presentation for our local bird club and I will be teaching on body language of companion parrots, including poicephalus.
