Senegal in a garage

I was at a birthday party on sunday and they have a senegal parrot. I asked where he was, they said oh he is in the garage. I asked why and they said because he was smelling up the house. They tried to give the bird to a few of the guest and no one wanted her. I am thinking oh my gah what do I do??? I am really happy with my flock and dont plan to add another bird. So I didnt offer to take him. I warned them about putting her in the garage and how she would be miserable like that. Well today is Tuesday and I have had her on my mind all day so I went and got her.

She has done great so far, she stepped up perfectly and got up on my shoulder and held on for dear life. She didnt want to let me go for nothing! I spent some time talking to her and then let her settle in for the night.

I will post some pics of her in the morning. Also I need some name suggestions. I was thinking about kiwi, since I have a mango already...lol.

I enjoy reading these stories, knowing there are still good people out in this world. Bless you for taking in this sweet little baby and giving it the love and proper treatment it deserves!!

Kiwi is a very cute name btw!

Some things are just meant to be, that's why you couldn't get little Kiwi off your mind! ;-) How awesome of you to open your home & heart to him!

Thumbs up

OMG... as I was reading your post and got to the statement: "I am really happy with my flock and dont plan to add another bird. So I didnt offer to take him." My heart dropped!
I'm thinking... "Go back... go baaaaaaaaaack!!!! She needs you!"

PHEW!!! I'm so glad you're a softy like me.
I think it's wonderful that you took her in.
She is going to be loving life now... ya know, once she gets over the initial shock & realizes it's the real thing n' all.

I think Kiwi is a cute name... especially with the "Mango factor".

And, of course ya'll know me... I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE DA PICS!!

BTW, how old is she?

Where are the pics?

I am so glad you got the bird. Even if your flock is full, and I more than understand that concern, I was hoping you might at least temporarily*foster him/her. It sounds like it's going to be permanent though. I am happy for all of you.

Thank you for doing such a nice thing.

Congrats on your new addition! :)

Such a shame she had been placed in the garage..how bad can a bird stink up a house..
No wonder she wouldn't let you go, she's probably enjoying the attention :)

Looking forward to pictures.
