Cape Parrot Photos

I noticed there aren't too many Cape owners, or at least ones who are chatting about their birds! So i thought i'd post some photos of my very sadly missed Cape Jake. He (technically "she" but i didnt know that when i named him lol) was just the sweetest bird. I had him for about 2 years before he died. The vet said it was due to deformity in his intestines or something so he wasn't able to digest his food properly Anyway, i miss him loads. I hope to, one day, get another Cape but as they are so expensive i think it will be a few years!!

She was gorgeous! I am so sorry you lost her so early. I have an 18 month old male Cape Jazz. He is a wonderful bird, very funny and cuddly. It is getting late, I will add some photos to this thread tomorrow.

What a lovely bird! I am so sorry that you lost your baby. Thank you so much for sharing those photos. I am on a waiting list for a female Cape from a wonderful breeder (Beth's Jazz came from her). She had a clutch of 3 males that hatched in Dec. And then both her pairs had eggs in March. Sadly the new pair had infertile eggs and the other pair - the hen got an calcium deficiency and was being treated with a daily shot. The male got upset and destroyed the nest & the eggs.

So once more I am waiting for my baby girl. So I so enjoy seeing and hearing about Capes.

I did want to ask how you got the harness on your baby. And also I see you have green cheek conures? How did they do with you Cape baby?

Again thanks so much for sharing!!!!

She is beautiful. I would love to own a Cape but as you mentioned, they are expensive and way out of my budget. The store I go to has two babies. They are the best. The owner of the store has a Cape named Rosie who is just the sweetest bird and I've had the good fortune of meeting BethN's Jazz. He is great.

I hope one day you will be able to get another Cape. Your pictures are beautiful.
