What a great board this is! So many wonderful bird owners sharing their experience and know-how to us "newbies"!

I came on this morning to ask about beak issues...(the layered rough look that keeps changing)..and then I saw on the Health thread that it is normal for it to peel off like that in layers sort of like fingernails. I need to get one of those rough perches to allow Patience to scratch it off.

I love that I have a place to research and learn more about my Picephalus. Now If I could just learn how to properly say that word!

As for the pronunciation of Poicephalus, I’ve always heard it as:
Poy -- as if saying boy with a “P”
se – with the “se” sounding like the “se” in self
fa -- – with the “fa” sounding like the “fa” in farther
lus -- – with the “lus” sounding like the “lus” in lust

Poy-se-fa-lus

Now you’re an expert.

I look forward to sharing and learning on this board very much. Now that my kids are on Summer Break I can slow down a bit and have a little fun "computer time" for myself. Patience loves sitting with me at my desk as I type. She usually falls asleep. I guess the typing is soothing to her...or boring. *lol*
