looking for a jardine

Hi i'm new here. I am looking into getting a Jardine parrot. These birds are hard to find! I prefer going to a breeder or pet store and buying one rather than shipping. Do any of you know where I can find one? I live in the northwest chicago suburbs and don't mind driving a few hours to pick him up.

There is a breeder in iowa that has Jardine's, she might not have any babies at the moment, but I am sure there will be a waiting list. I wouldn't get one from a pet store as they are (a) usually not sold in stores and (b) will be exceptionally expensive. From a breeder they will be in better health and more well socialized.

Check out hoobly.com

This next one might be gone already

Jardine's are great! Good choice

Dunno, xafsmom help! I only have a female and she's a sweetie! I'm guessing it all depends on how they were raised and treated. Like any bird. Is this your first bird? Or just first larger bird?

I know you said you don't want the bird shipped but if you change your mind, you might want to talk to this guy Welcome to Don's Birds and Supplies! . He's a really nice guy who has been breeding a long time and takes wonderful care of his birds. He breeds the lesser jardines. I don't know if he has any babies right now. You would have to email him. I've heard nothing but good things about his birds. I'd love to get a great billed from him someday.

When I looked it said $900. Holy smokes. These folks aren't really looking for a good home for their bird!
