naming my red bellied parrot

I just adopted a red bellied parrot. His current name is Max and I want to change his name because Max doesn't appeal to me. I was thinking Tac or Tic Tac, but I don't know if I really like that either. Then I was thinking Gog (Gee-O-Gee) which came up with when I thought about his colors grey, orange, green. But I don't know if I am in love with that name either. So, I would like some help. Any male names that would fit a red bellied parrot would be a great help!

I just wanted to say CONGRATS on the new addition. RBPs are GORGEOUS.

Renae is this the same bird you found at the bird fair?? I want to see pictures!! Im so happy you got to bring him home. As far as naming goes I would just let him settle in and just watch him and figure out his personality. This has always helped me when naming my birds, something always comes to me or something just clicks and *whamo* they have a name!! Good luck - post some pictures!!

LovelySydney : Yes! I now own the parrot I saw at the bird fair. It took a little detective work to track down the person that owned him but I did. He's not too happy right now :(, but he will get better. I saw after I put him in his cage that one of his toes was amputated from slightly above the nail. It's fully healed but I still feel bad about whatever happened to him. I will be his third home. The first home had him for 3 years as a pet (I don't know if it was cuddly pet or look pretty pet), and then his previous owner was planning on breeding him but couldn't find a female. And after a year of no success in finding a girl she decided to find a new home for him. Hopefully it won't be too hard to get him to trust me. Time will tell! I have attached one picture, he wasn't too happy about the camera.

He's a cutie :)
About the same age as my Joey as well!

Sorry, have no ideas for names. I wasn't a fan of Joey's name either, but he responded to it so I kept it.

I think you are a good person for rescuing him!
The name that jumped into my mind when I say his picture was: Grady.
I agree with other posters, though, that you will come to calling him a name you like over time.

Thank you for showing compassion to this lovely bird!

RB's are great birds. I use to breed them. I think it is funny when people name their dogs DOG (dee-o--gee)! Cute like you GOG!
