Question Beak Tapping?

Zanzi has done this a few times and I know one time was because he was annoyed ( we turned on the light after he went to bed). Other than that, if he is out of his cage, has food and water and I'm paying attention to him, what does it mean when he paces the cage top and bangs his beak on the bars? Thanks in advance

When KoKo, my CAG, is out of the cage, he'll wander into the kitchen where I'm preparing everyone's meals. First he'll tap his beak on the garbage pail, then on the empty fish tank, then on the stove. Sometimes when he's on top of his cage, he'll bang the wall. I think he just likes the noise or the feeling against his beak.

My cockatiel does tap things during one of his "crazy" times. He runs around and around in circles, sings, talks to himself, laughs at himself, runs forward and backward and forward again, and taps several times with his beak on things like his cage top or the wooden playgym. He will do this for about 20 minutes and then get tired. I think it's just a routine he has developed to let me know that he's having a great day!

The beak tapping is usually always a male. Quakers do it and Cockatiels a lot. It's normal, and an attention getter!
