Wink Cold weather for my quaker

Hi i am from florida and i have two quakers and today the temperture will be droping to 50 degress. and i want to know if that will be to cold for them to sleep in the lenie? thanks

What's a lenie? If your birds have GRADUALLY been introduced to cooler temperatures (including those in the 50s), they'll be fine. But if they've been used to 70+ degree temps and then you throw them into 50 degrees, that's too traumatic.

Hello birdlady49, thank you so mush for your reply in ref. to the weather here in florida. I keep my birds out in side of the lanai, and yesterday the weather went down to 50. i am from florida so i want to make sure they wont get sick.

A lanai is like a balcony of sorts, for those of us up north and not in tropical regions.

I thought a lenai is a patio or screened in porch type thing. I would cover the cages at nite so they would not be in a draft when the wind blows.. When I was visiting my relatives in Florida in January, we covered the cages with clear plastic on three sides and up to the cage door because it was not just cold but also windy.
