No A happy Hut will probably not help A single Quaker in a cage although the Quakers love them. A couple of things that might help.
1 change its toys often and move them around the cage so it does not get to used to the cage one way. 2 A little reward every time it steps up of the cage when its young helps. 3 Having a play area it can not access with out you taking it to it is one of the best. Try a Play gym in another room or across the room if it likes the gym it will beg you to take it off the cage. Just a couple Hope it helps.

I had a Pallid Quaker here that was forced weaned. It took me a couple of weeks to work with her but she was stepping up and being a nice Quaker.
She had a rope swing in her cage that she slept in. When she was in that and I tried to get her to step up that is when I got bit. She ended up being very territorial about that rope swing. Alice |

My first bird, a quaker, is not territorial with ANYTHING. He's very sweet and almost anyone can put thier hand in his cage. He is, though, afraid of EVERYTHING. I try to buy him new toys and recently was given a playgym as a gift and he's terrified of it. He also hated the happy hut. His favorite thing to do is rip up paper towels or tissue paper. Good luck.

Quakers can be very cage protective. However once you let them know you are not afraid of their bites (and believe me a Quaker can leave you torn up pretty well) the cage aggression will slow down and should disappear. I battled with our pet Quaker for about a month over it and finally he realized I was actually ok and not going to attack him or take over his space. We have one breeder pair that are horrific. I can't put my hand in the cage without being attacked. The other pair are sweet as pie and the male will even ride around on your shoulder, preen your hair and give kisses.
They can also be very tentative of new things like toys and happy huts and might throw a bit of a "freak" when it appears in their cage. It might be wiser to introduce it by leaving it hanging outside the cage for a while so your Quakers realizes it isn't going to bite. We had a sweet, tame, male Quaker a while back that loved his happy hut; however it wasn't for sleeping but rather he used it when hormonal for humping and for stashing sticks and treats in.

Hi,
Quaker females can also get pretty "hormonal" literally. They can become very rough to handle for a few days then they go right back to being themselves. They will out and out mount an attack against your hand and bite hard! Bill

My Chaska is a sweetie and has two Happy Huts, one in each cage. Sometimes she sleeps with me in my room, sometimes in the main bird room with the others. Since I have her in the bird room, she has stopped being so territorial and learned to get along with the others, but she is still jealous when I kiss the other birds.

Happy Hut
I'll be putting my cockatiel's ignored Happy Hut into my Quaker's cage!

This thread is over a year old and I am pleased to say that my Chaska is still as sweet as she ever was!! I have since added a Janday and Nanday who choose to share a happy hut and there is one spare hut in there. During the day, all the birds are in and out of the huts, but at night, they always go back to their same hut to sleep.

Skittles doesn't like me to put my hand in her cage (my daughter, her chosen person can). I just open her door, ask her if she wants to come out, she climbs to her door and then she'll step up for me no problem. She doesn't have a happy hut - but she has a coconut thing she sleeps in.
