Question Parrot Play Date

My friend and I just got parrots about the same time. she has had hers for a few weeks and I have had mine for just over a week. they are both about 5 months old. We are getting them together tomorrow for a "play date" Can anyone tell me what to expect? Are the results unpredictable? Are their any precautions we should take?

I'm no expert but I think your supposed to have a quarantine period with birds. I heard other people say 30 to 45 days. Since you guys haven't had your birds long you might want to do this yet. Birds can carry diseases and sicknesses without showing any signs. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will come along and give you some answers.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind and talk to my friend about it.

we did it and they loved each other. they squawked back and forth and absolutely loved seeing another of their kind. We are so glad we got them together. We are going to a pirate party and we are taking our birds with us to put on our shoulders when we get there.

The real kicker is that these birds, although they look alike, have completely different personalities. My parrot is a sweet quiet guy and her parrot is a raukus clown even though they are roughly the same age.

Can't wait for the next play date.

if the party is at night, remember ur birds need a good amount of sleep. if my birds don't get at least ten hours alone to sleep they get cranky
