Have you seen any wild quakers?

I keep reading things about wild quaker flocks turning up all over the United States but have never spotted any in Maryland. Just wondering, how many folks here have actually witnessed firsthand the wild quakers?

There are flocks in Brooklyn, NY and, I didn't see it myself, but a very reliable friend told me that he was riding his bike in NJ and he saw them.

We saw some sitting on telephone wires behind Scott's aunt's house in Hollywood, Florida last July. That was cool. We've looked for the flock that is supposed to be outside the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago but couldn't find them. They may have already been moved by the time we went.

Come to my house! There is a flock in my neighborhood and they visit my nextdoor neighbor and me all the time! Her more because she buys them sunflower seeds and they get leftover bird food at my house, lol. There is a flock of wild Nandays in my neighborhood also. When I walk Annie we find them down the street by the schoolyard. Sometimes they come to my front yard but not as often as the quakers.

Oh yes! I see them often. My parents still live in Brooklyn and I am only in Staten Island but to see them is an awesome sight.

a funny thing happened.......

I saw some around Hyde Park and the Museum [Chicago] a few years ago also. Quite a few nests...not all were on the power line poles...most were in trees.
Anyway, this past Saturday, I was out with my freind, helping him buy a new-used car. Low and behold, when we stopped at the house that had the car for sale, i heard a squawk squawk chirp chirrrrrp. I looked around and then I saw two just chillin by a power line pole. I walked up to the pole and made some noises back and they stopped yelling. As i went back to the cars, here they came.... 10----20-----30-----and all in all there was 45-50 of them that came from some wooded area two or three city blocks away. This was in Burbank, IL.....a S/W suburb that borders the city. It sure was a blast to see all those beautiful green feathered bodies fluttering around.

We have them in a park in Edgewater,NJ.They are gorgeous, noisy and live in a huge flock. Their multi-level nests look like birdie apartment houses- they must be 6-8 feet tall(hard to judge cuz they're in giant trees high above the ground. I always roll my window down as I drive by so I can listen to their chattering
