question on Quarker?

I do not have a quaker, however I am the only one (besides my sister, which is actually odd) that can handle my cherry head conure. She refuses to let anyone else pick her up unless I put her onto them and even then sometimes she may still bite them. While she is on their hands or arms, she gets very nervous.

Sounds exactly like my Quaker, Tilde. She's a great little talker and devoted MOST of the time to me and only me. She likes my husband Will and he takes her out and plays with her when she feels like it. Frankly, she's the smallest bird at ********** and the most headstrong of any of them. Still, I'm nuts about her. Everyone should have a quaker.

Hi Well , I also have a Quaker Buddy and I adore Quakers , they are little birds with BIG personalities ...
Our Buddy is great with all the family BUT strangers beware ...But I think he caught that from Sunny our sun conure as he attacks all people that are not in his flock so Buddy just tags along and copies him BUT where as Sunny will fly at people with his talons and beaks ready to kill Buddy does not he will stay close to one of the family and ONLY bite if that person tries to pet him ..Its easier for us to put them in their cage when we have visitors they preen and play and are happy and its less stresful on the guests...
I don`t know if you can change the behavior , as long as he doesn`t attack I would just love him the way he is and let him show everyone how smart he is a talking , nice to be a mummys boy you must feel so loved ... :icon_smil

My Quaker Peewee only likes my husband and me. will bite the tar out of anyone else. When my 22 year old son even comes near me if peewee is on my shoulder she will bite me if she can't get to him and says no bite then laughs. You are right everyone should have a Quaker. They are the best birds ever :eusa_danc

Yep ..Buddy also does the bite and laugh its so funny he knows its naughty and laughs and nods his head ...cute little monsters...
