Can different bird breeds be pals?
Ok, I have a blue quaker (Baloo) and a green cheek conure (Yoshi) who were recently introduced. I have had Baloo for 2 years and Yoshi is brand new, but the same age as Baloo. In general, they get along well. They rarely fight. However, Yoshi wants to snuggle and Baloo refuses. He acts as though Yoshi has bad breathe! Baloo recently lost his gf (green quaker) who he used to love to snuggle with. Now he won't accpet Yoshi's sweet advances. Do you think he will ever?

Maybe, if they get along already then after a while they might become closer. Baloo might be still grieving so he might need a bit of time. There are alot of birds that are different breeds and pals. Someone on here, jim, has an eclectus and a love bird that preen eachother and the eclectus mothers the love bird. There is also a hyacinth in a zoo that is pals with a quaker. And there is an alexandrine in a petshop that snuggles with a green cheek conure.

Update
I bought Yoshi (Green Cheek Conure) for Baloo (Blue Quaker) after Kiwi (Green Quaker) passed away. Yoshi and Baloo coexist. They are not cute a cuddly together. I recently bought Maui (peach face love bird) and she and Yoshi are soooooooooooo in love. They are like Romeo and Juliet. Now, Baloo is all alone. I feel sooo bad. So now Im waiting for a new green quaker to come our way. I can't wait to see how Baloo reacts when he sees another green quaker.

hahaha !!! That hyacinth with the quaker is the cutest thing ever, omg.
![]() My quaker (she has passed away now ![]() My Indian Ringneck tolerates the 3 cockatiels that I currently have; they get in little spats sometimes, but nothing major. I keep a close watch all the time just in case. His beak is, after all, twice the size. |

WOW those hyacinth/quaker pictures are amazing!
Years ago our male budgie and female quaker were inseparable. Then we got a male quaker and while budgie still loves quaker, female quaker decided to take two toes off of budgie. |
