I bring home Kermit today!!!
I have been going to visit him, while he is being weaned. I went in yesterday to say hey to him. I walked in and Lynn, the breeder said, "You are going to hate me!" I was thinking at the time that she had left him at home and didn't bring him into her store. I was wrong. It was about 3:00. She said at 1:30 she noticed Kermit had escaped the aquarium where him and his brother and sisters had been all day. They are pretty much weaned, she was just holding them a little longer to make sure they could get a few good flights in. She said in her opinion, after a few good flights and them not taking formula anymore, they were considered weaned.
Her store is very mom and pop feeling. With one side being birds and the other side being devoted to saltwater fish. Most of the fishtanks in the store are open tops, and that was the biggest concern for Kermit. She had one of her employees manning the aquariums to make sure Kermit could not take a swim. Lynn at this time was very upset. I figured, he had to be in the store somewhere and would eventually turn up. Since I was at the store to "waste" some time, I figured I would go say hi to Bella, the other Quaker in the clutch. She came to me and I was carrying her around... She was doing the Quaker shake and some chirping. At that time, I heard a chirp from the far corner of the store where I had just walked past... It was Kermit, he had perched himself on a bucket and looked at me, wondering what all the commotion was about... He is gonna be quite the personality, I can just tell.
So, long story short... I get to pick Kermit up today and I am super pumped. I attached a few pictures from this past weekend. I hope you enjoy them, I will get some up of him at home.
oh ps... due to Kermit's exploring nature, and my absent mindedness, he will be clipped.
